My Struggle With Panic Attacks
Maybe you're like me: Sometimes you suffer from a fast heart rate, profuse sweating, trembling, shaking, and maybe even feel like you're short of breath or choking. The first time this happened to me, I called 911 for fear that I was having a heart attack.
For nearly two years thereafter, I continued to suffer from panic attacks two, sometimes three times per week - even to the point where I nearly got fired from my job.
I tried all sorts of treatments for panic attacks: Drugs, expensive therapy - nothing was working very well. I was numb from the anti-anxiety medications and the therapy was draining me dry. I was desperate.
I was turned on to Cognitive Behavior Therapy (aka CBT) and finally started to come back from the edge.
